GENTZ FRIEDRICH VON: (1764-1832) German Diplomat, Statesman and Writer. A very interesting A.L.S., Gentz, one page, 4to, n.p. [Berlin], n.d., [c.1802-1804], in French. Von Gentz states `Apparently, Bonaparte has requested officially that the Russian Emperor withdraw the faculties given to Monsieur Alopeus… alleging that the same person cannot be the representative for two different missions..´ further saying `If they have written to you something about this strange proposal, I will appreciate if you forward it to me. If not, try to learn through Jackson what´s the true story.´ Small overall minor age wear and light creasing. G £200-300 Maximian von Alopaeus (1748-1822) Russian Diplomat.
