Berthier, in his capacity as General of the Versailles National Guard, reports having received his correspondent´s letter that `I will not neglect anything in order to restore the command in the King´s properties. I request once again the return of 200 men from the Flanders regiment...´ further concluding `..also very necessary for the maintenance of the King´s properties, we cannot do so only with the chasseurs..´ Autograph letters of Berthier of this period are particularly rare and desirable.
