Information:
Sergey Donatovich Dovlatov (Dovlatov-Mechik; 1941-1990) - writer, journalist. Since the late 1960s, works have been distributed in samizdat, leading to harassment by the authorities. In 1978 he was forced to emigrate. One of the founders and chief editor of the newspaper "New American" (1980-1982). Yakov Arkadyevich Gordin (1935) - historian, publicist, poet, writer, editor-in-chief of the journal Zvezda. He began his literary activity as a poet, since 1957 he regularly spoke with poems to university students, several times with Brodsky. The author of memoirs and essays about his friend, united in the book “The Knight and Death, or Life as a Plan: About the fate of Joseph Brodsky” (2010).
