Simon Segal was a Polish or Russian Jewish figurative painter and member of the École de Paris. He emigrated to France in 1925 and was naturalized in 1949.
His work is rare and characterized by an aus- tere and expressive style, especially in his paintings of La Hague from 1946 to 1953.
