A leaf handwritten on both its sides and with the three signatures of the holy genius Rabbi Ya'akov Even Tzur. Meknes, 1727.

On the leaf appear two court rulings: on the first page, a long court ruling from 19th of Shevat, 1727, concerning a financial dispute between "Yosef Maimran … the son of Rabbi Moshe and the dear Binyamin Eskoury…" At the end of the ruling, the handwritten signature of Rabbi Ya'akov Ben Tzur – a large, nice curly calligraphic signature. After this signature, an addition of 3 lines with an additional, shorter signature. On the second page: an additional court ruling concerning the aforementioned from the 3rd of Adar 1727. Handwritten and signed by him - a large, nice curly calligraphic signature.

The holy genius Rabbi Ya'akov Even Tzur (1673-1753), one of the greatest and holiest sages of Morocco, the greatest Posek of Morocco, author of the "Mishpat U'Tzeddaka B'Ya'akov" Responsa. Already as a child, he was known as holy and pious. In his youth he was appointed a Dayan at the Beit Din with Rabbi Yehuda Ben Atar and Rabbi Shmuel Ha'Tzarfati. After Rabbi Yehuda Ben Atar's death, he served as the Rosh Av Beit Din and after thirty one years moved to Meknes, where he served as a Dayan together with Rabbi Moshe Berdugo – the Mashbir – for eleven years. In his old age, he returned to Fes. He was one of the approbators of the book 'Chafetz Hashem' by Rabbi Chaim Ben Atar (1736). His grave became a site of prayer and pilgrimage among the Jews of Morocco. Authored also the books 'Et Sofer', 'Leshon Limudim' and 'Et L'Kol Chefetz'.

[1] leaf. Two written pages. 13x18cm. 27 lines and 3 signatures. Fair condition. Flaws to the margins of the leaf, with slight omission of text of a few letters. Professionally restored; after the restoration, the leaf is in good condition.
