“For great protection and to bring blessing into his home” A complete, nice set of Likutei Torah V’hashas [Zidichov] – Chassidut, first edition, 1877-192
A complete set of five volumes of the book Likutei Torah V’Hashas by the Rebbe Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Zidichov, explanations on the Five Books of the Torah in a chassidic approach. First edition. The last three volumes were published by his great disciple Rabbi Yosef Meir Weiss of Spinka author of the Imrei Yosef, who wrote in his introduction to the book of Vayikra: “… I am sure that anyone who buys the holy book of the holy rabbi, his merit will certainly protect him in this world and the next, and he will have "great protection” [the emphasis appears in the original!] and blessing will be brought into his home…” In the introduction to the book of Devarim the Rebbe of Spinka talks at length about his rabbi, the author, and quotes important Torah teachings from the leading chassidic leaders and ends with the words: “And it is well known that when the author taught Torah publicly he brought an abundance of prosperity and success to our Jewish brethren, and therefore when his holy book is published in the world, and we know that the righteous are greater etc….they will be elevated and will be blessed with an abundance of prosperity and success and no-one will be able to harm them…” At the end of part 3 a letter from the Maggid of Koznitz to the Ohev Yisrael of Apta, the Be’er Mayim Chaim and the Ahavat Shalom of Kassov, a letter from Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Zidichov to Rabbi Naftali Zvi of Ropshitz and a letter from the Divrei Chaim of Sanz to Rabbi Yitzchak Issac of Zidichov are printed. Part one – Bereishit, Lemberg 1877. [4], 209 leaves. Stefansky Chassidut 298. Two title pages in the binding are in the opposite order. Part two: Shemot – Munkacs 1883. [1], 252, [1] leaves. Restored title page, pastings and slight tears in the margins of several pages. Part three: Vayikra – Munkacs 1886. [4], 168 leaves. Part four: Bamidbar – Lemberg, 1889. [2], 152 leaves. Fifth part: Devarim – M. Sighet, 1892, [12], 200 leaves. Simple, non-uniform bindings for the entire set. Very few worming holes and slight blemishes. Very good general condition. Stored carefully from the library of the kabbalist the chassid Rabbi Mordechai Moshe Karfman.
