A silver-hilted steel sword (shamshir) inscribed with the name "Shah Alam" the single-edged watered-steel blade of curved form with gold-inlaid inscription filled cartouche to one side, the quillions engraved with scrolling vegetal motifs around a central cartouche, with spherical finials, the pommel in the form of a tiger's head, the fabric and metal-thread clad scabbard with silver fittings further engraved with scrolling vegetal motifs India, 19th c.

Condition: Very good with scabbard velvet slightly worn
