AUGUSTUS II OF POLAND: (1670-1733) King of Poland 1697-1706 & 1709-1733. Known as ''The Strong'', and in Saxony as Frederick Augustus I. Augustus amassed an impressive art collection and built lavish baroque palaces in Dresden and Warsaw. L.S., `bonus amicus - Augustus Rex´, three pages, folio, Warsaw, 26th June 1699, to the Republic of Genoa, in Latin. The King refers to the message received from Genoa and forwarded by Baron Bruno de Bruni, related to the good relationship between both governments, and expects that this confidence can still improve, expressing his belief and support to de Bruni and to the Ambassador appointed to the Republic.
