[CHARIOTS OF FIRE]: BURGHLEY LORD (1905-1981) English Athlete, Olympic Gold Medallist in the 400 m hurdles at the 1928 Summer Olympics. In June 1927 Burghley sprinted around the Great Court at Trinity College, Cambridge, which inspired the famous scene in the film Chariots of Fire (1981) in which Harold Abrahams achieves the same feat.
