Grant states that they all feel refreshed following a comfortable night's rest, remarking 'The children are none the worse for the journey and Mrs. Grant has been down to breakfast, but I do not think she should go out today for it looks so unpromising' and further writing 'We had not heard that Miss. Collins was so ill, and I will go over to enquire for her and hope to find that she is better'.
