Lev Pavlovich Mushko
Born on the 22nd of September, 1924 in Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast. Graduated from the artists’ advanced training studio in 1952. A career in arts from 1948. Worked in scenery genre and in monumental art. The scenery has a special place in his art: Mushko strived to represent through the language of paints the beauty of his motherland. In his works, he tried to represent the zest for life and a feeling of deep patriotism. Mushko was attracted by northern, oriental, and south themes, but his favorite still were the Moscow Oblast sceneries. They are fulfilled with amazing tenderness and devotion to the Russian modest, naturalistic motive.
Mushko decorated public buildings in Dmitrov, the airport of Ulyanovsk, and a number of buildings in Tashkent, Severodonetsk, Kharkiv, Dubna, Suzdal. The leading themes of his memorable posters were the fight for peace on Earth and the fight against the nuclear war threat. The member of the Union of Artists of USSR since 1977. The participant of the following art exhibitions: the exhibition dedicated to the 40-th anniversary of October (1957), regional art exhibitions (1958 - 1999), «Подмосковье моё» (My Moscow Oblast, 1968), «Художники центральных областей России» (The artists of the central regions of Russia, 1974), a republican exhibition «Советсткая Россия» (Soviet Russia, 1975), the exhibition of monumental art (1977), the regional exhibition «Подмосковье» (The Moscow Oblast) (1980, 1984, 1990), «50 лет МООСХ» (50 years to the Moscow regional department of Soviet artists, 1996).
