Year: Mid-19th century.
Technique: Lithography.
Size: 24х34.

Sverchkov Nikolay Egorovich (1817, St. Petersburg - 1898).
Academician. Military painter and genre artist. Studied at the Education school under the Academy of Artists. Since 1844 took part in academic exhibitions. In 1852 was awarded the title of academician for his painting “Troika with country gentlemen crossing at a full gallop a wagon train stretching along the high road”. In 1855 was awarded the title of professor. In 1863 two of his paintings were acquired by Napoleon III. Sverchkov N.E. was awarded Legion of Merit. In 1864 created a painting “The Tsar Aleksey Mikhaylovich visits a ceremonial review in 1664" for the Emperor Aleksander II, whereupon was several times had honor to work under Imperial orders till 1882. His paintings can be found in the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Russian Museum.
