Autograph from the secretary of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR Mikhail Georgadze Karpova E. F. on the congratulatory address on the occasion of March 8.
M. 1957-1982. Folded size 21 x 10.8 cm. Jammed at the top of the fold.

[Michael Giorgadze porfirevich (load. პორფილეს ძე მიხეილ გიორგაძე) (15 (28) Feb 1912, Chiatura (according to other sources — in the village Sodi), Kutaisi governorate, Russian Empire — November 23, 1982 in Moscow, RSFSR; according to others, bullfinches (Moscow oblast)) - Soviet and Georgian state and party leader, Secretary of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1957-1982).

In early 1957, he was recalled to Moscow and in February of that year was elected Secretary of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

The signature of M. P. Georgadze next to the signatures of the chairmen of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR K. E. Voroshilov, A. I. Mikoyan, N. V. Podgorny and L. I. Brezhnev stood under the decrees of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, issued in 1957-1982.

In March-May 1969, he headed the working group of the commission of the Supreme Soviet on the development of a new constitution of the USSR.

He was a delegate to a number of party congresses (from XX to XXVI), a candidate for the Central Committee of the CPSU (1961-1982).

He was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1954-1982) of the 4th-10th convocations.

On November 23, 1982, he died while attending a session of the Supreme Soviet.

[According to another version, Georgadze, while being tried in the case of corrupt appointments of Georgian immigrants to senior positions in the union authorities, committed suicide (shot himself) after a search of his dacha, during which significant material values were found.]]
