Autograph from the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR M.Solomentseva on the congratulatory address of Karpova E. F.
M. 1971-83. The folded size is 10 x 19.3 cm Without significant defects.

[Mikhail Sergeyevich Solomentsev (October 25 (November 7), 1913, Erilovka village, Yeletsky Uyezd, Oryol province — February 15, 2008, Moscow) was a Soviet party and state figure. Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPSU (December 27, 1983-September 30, 1988), candidate for the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPSU (November 23, 1971 — December 27, 1983). Chairman of the CPC under the Central Committee of the CPSU (1983-1988).

According to the memoirs of Pyotr Shelest, 1-St Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist party, at the meetings of the Politburo Solomentsev more than once allowed himself openly Ukrainophobic performances. For example, Mikhail Solomentsev accused Ukrainians of honoring Taras Shevchenko and making signs in Ukrainian, which is a "distortion of Russian".

Under Yu. V. Andropov, Solomentsev headed the Party Control Committee of the Central Committee of the CPSU (1983-1988) and became a member of the Politburo; he retained his influence at the beginning of the Gorbachev leadership. Solomentsev was one of the main supporters of the anti-alcohol campaign of the mid-1980s.

The name of Solomentsev often surfaced during the investigation of the "cotton case" in Uzbekistan. He, along with Ligachev, was accused of corruption and patronage of the party-state mafia in the UzSSR, but these charges were not officially confirmed.

According to Oleg Sultanov: "According to his state attitude, M. Solomentsev was close to A. Kosygin, that is, he tried to be out of politics, made every effort to eliminate economic difficulties in the development of the RSFSR."
