[At the Olympic Games-72 in Munich, representatives of the GDR national team made a serious competition for the USSR national team. The USSR team again won the team championship (380.5 points), ahead of the GDR (376.55) and Hungary (368.25). The greatest contribution to the victory was made by Lyudmila Turishcheva (76.85 points), she also won the absolute championship.
