In 1902, the Imperial Academy of Arts hosted an exhibition of paintings by the Peredvizhnik artists Yefim Volkov and Vladimir Makovsky. The exhibition featured 417 paintings by the artist. In addition to painting, Yefim Yefimovich Volkov was also successfully engaged in book illustration.
He died in Petrograd in 1920.
