CAMBACERES JEAN JACQUES DE: (1753-1824) French Noble, Lawyer and Statesman during the French Revolution and French Empire. Co-Author of the Napoleonic code, which still is at the base of the French and many other countries civil law. D.S., Cambaceres, two pages, folio, Paris, 12th April 1795, in French. The partially printed document being an extract from the records of deliberations of the Committee of Public Safety, referring to Lemarie, Director of supplies, and to the delivery requested for 400 me in Versailles. The document bears a large and attractive vignette of the French Republic and Committee of Public Safety. Also signed at the base by Lesage, member of the National Convention. Very small overall age wear. VG £100-150
