BOSCO HENRI: (1888-1976) French Novelist. Nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature four times. An excellent set of two documents. A.L.S., Henri Bosco, two pages, small 8vo, Rabat, Morocco, [July 1934], to M. Averseng, in French. The letter bears the printed heading ''Avenue de Marrakech, Rabat'', and Bosco explains that he won´t be able to travel to France, saying `..we are disappointed. What a sadness. Rabat is a ghost town. The typed copy of the novel being finished, I would like you to read it
´ Together with an Autograph Manuscript, being a poem of 36 verses, two pages, 4to, in French. Bosco annotates at the head `On the occasion of Michelle´s birth / Not be read to her mother (nor to her Grandmother, nor to anyone´, signing to the border `Le R´bati´ being the phonetic pronunciation of Moroccan´s word ''The Rabati'' or inhabitant of Rabat. Overall age wear and creasing, otherwise about G £150-200
