FREUD SIGMUND: (1856-1939) Austrian Neurologist & Founder of Psychoanalysis. Freud formulated the Oedipus complex and developed his theory on the Analysis of Dreams. He lived and worked in Vienna until 1938 when he escaped the Nazis and went to the United Kingdom where he lived in exile the last year of his life. An excellent A.L.S., `Freud´, one page, large 5.5 x 3.5 partially printed card, Berchtesgaden, 3rd July 1929, on his personal printed visiting card, to Doctor Clark. Freud sends a short letter to his colleague, on his printed card, bearing at the heading ''Prof. Dr. Freud'', and to the upper right corner ''Wien, IX., Berggasse 19'', and states in full `Dear Dr. Clark, I can´t see how you come to offer me a check for your reception in Vienna. I received you as a distinguished colleague, gave you no consultation. Sincerely yours, Freud´. Extremely small traces of former mounting to the left and bottom edges, although not affecting the text or signature, otherwise VG £2000-3000
