Kats Ilya Lvovich (born 1908, Odessa-1992).
Studied at the Art Painting Institute in Odessa (1929-1935) under A.F. Gaush, T. B. Fraerman. Made a diploma work “At Collective Fishery” under Y. R. Bershadskiy. Participated in the pavilion decoration “Turkmenskya SSR”, “ Fish Industry of Povolzhie” and others at Russian all-union exhibitions. (1938-1953). He was the participant of the exhibitions since 1935.His one-man shows took place in 1937 and 1987 in Moscow, in1972 in Dubna. Mostly he painted seascapes. The artist created the series of painting “ At Pushkin Places”. Constant participant of Moscow, seascapes and all-union exhibitions. His masterpieces are presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, regional museums of Russia, in private collections.
