Pavlov Ivan Nikolaevich (1872, Popovka village of Tula district - 1951, Moscow).
Russian and Soviet engraver. National artist of the RSFSR (1943). Stalin prize winner. Full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1947). Studied in the Central school of technical drawing of Stieglitz and the Drawing school of the Society of Arts Encouragement, and the workshop of V. Mate (1891-1892) in St. Petersburg. Member of the Association of Revolutionary Russian Artists (1925). In early XX century, he created a series of albums of original engravings, among them are ‘Old Russia’, ‘Old province’, ‘Ostankino’, ‘Landscapes in colored woodcut’, and ‘Old Moscow’. His works are exhibited in the State Tretyakov Gallery and State Russian Museum.
