Khazanovsky Michael Nakhmanovich (1912-1990)
Soviet graphic artist, poster artist; He is best known as a master of film posters. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1964). Born in Yekaterinoslavl, studied at the Kharkov Art Institute (1932–1936) under S. A. Grigoriev, V. I. Kasiyan, S. M. Prokhorov. He worked in the field of easel graphics, advertising and political posters ("Women and girls! Let's replace the men who went to the front!", 1942). In 1945 the artist moved to Moscow. In the 1940s-1980s, he constantly worked in the field of propaganda posters, including social and political ones. Author of posters: Okno-TASS # 48, “Pies and donuts. Bruises and bumps " (1943), " Be equal to the leaders, earn the award of the Motherland! " (1948), “Builders of Mining Villages! Wider socialist competition for the early fulfillment of the annual plan for the construction of residential buildings for miners! " (1950), "Follow the military regulations - be smart and brave!" (1954), "We need to learn to work - the work of the master is afraid!" (1955), “For freedom and independence! Unity is strength! " (1967), "The Communists are the Standard Bearers of the World!" (1977). One of the leading masters of the film poster genre in the USSR. Collaborated with the publishing house "Reklamfilm". Author of posters for famous films: "The House I Live In" (1957), "The Communist" (1958), "The Idiot" (1958), "The Last Inch" (1959), "Colleagues" (1963), "Alive and dead "(1963), " Ordinary Fascism "(1965), " Workers' Village "(1966), " Chief of Chukotka "(1966), " By the Lake "(1970), " Pirates of the 20th Century "(1980), " Tehran- 43 "(1981). Mikhail Khazanovsky won the 1st prize at the International Competition for Contemporary Film Poster (1962, Karlovy Vary). Diplomas of the Moscow branch of the Union of Artists of the USSR for the best posters of the year (1965, 1966, 1967). MN Khazanovsky's posters are kept in the collection of the Russian State Library, the National Library of Belarus, private Russian and foreign collections.
