Graphic artist. Academician. National artist of the Russian Federation (1995.). Professor (1985) In 1961, he graduated from the Moscow State Art Institute named after V. Surikov, where he was a student of E. Kibrik. From 1989 till 2001, Shepelev held office of the head of the Moscow State Art Institute named after V. Surikov. The topic of the city plays a special role in his artworks.
