Konchalovsky Mikhail Petrovich (1906-2000).
Son of the painter Petr Konchalovsky and himself a painter and draughtsman. Preferred still-life and landscape pictures. It was in Venice in 1924, while accompanying his father on a foreign trip, that Mikhail Konchalovsky accomplished his first oil studies. During this trip he took classes at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. From 1924 until the early 1930s he studied at the Higher Art and Technical Institute (VHUTEIN), attending A. Osmerkin’s and I. Mashkov’s workshops. Mikhail Konchalovsky painted and drew a lot while accompanying his father on trips to Novgorod (1926-1928), to the Caucasus (1927 and 1931), to the Crimea (1929), to Murmansk (1936), and Krasnoyarsk (1951). The artist’s one-man shows took place in 1947 and 1961.
