Shterenberg David Petrovich (1881, Zhitomir – 1948, Moscow).
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1930). Russian and Soviet artist, painter and graphic artist, representative of postfuturistic fine art of Russia. Head of department of the IZO Narkompros in 1918-1920. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, at the School of Fine Arts in Paris and at the Witti Academy in A.Marten, K. Van Dongen and E.Anglady in 1906-1930. He worked in genres: landscape, portrait, still life. Among the students of Shterenberg, such famous Russian artists as A.A.Deineka, Y.I. Pimenov, A.A.Labas, P.V.Williams, A.D.Goncharov and others . Member of All-Union and international exhibitions. The artist's works are in museums in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Zhitomir, as well as in private collections.
