Veshcilov Konstantin Aleksandrovich (1878, Petersburg – 1945).
Russian painter, painted on themes of Russian and ancient history. In 1893-1896. studied at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of Artists, in 1896-1898. - at the school of Princess M. Tenisheva, in 1898-1904. - at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in the workshop of I.E. Repina. After graduating from the Academy of Arts, he received the right to retire for two years. From 1912 he served as an artist at the Naval Ministry. Traveled through Egypt, Palestine, Italy and France, met on. Capri with M. Gorky. Received a prize at the competition. A. Kuindzhi. Several of the artist's paintings were purchased by Empress Maria Feodorovna. The works were reproduced in the magazines “Niva”, “Ogonyok”, “Rodina” and “Sun of Russia”. In 1914 he became the head of the decorative department of the theater of the Literary and Artistic Island. He took part in the Spring exhibitions in the halls of the Academy of Arts, in the exhibitions of the Peredvizhniki. From 1922 he lived and worked in France, from the mid-1930s - in the USA. The artist’s works are in the Russian Museum and other museum collections.
