Tyshler Alexandr Grigorievich (1898, Melitopol -1980, Moscow).
He studied in Kiev Artistic College (1912-1917), then in studio of A.Ekster (1917) and workshop of V.A.Favorsky in the Moscow VKhUTEMAS. Tyshler was a member of the following artistic associations: “Kultur-Liga” (Kiev, 1917-1920), “Metod” (Moscow, 1922-1925), Society of Easel Painters (Moscow, 1925-1932). He worked as a painter and director in the theatres of Moscow. As he didn’t have any possibility to exhibit his easel paintings, he worked intensively within the sphere of scenography, collaborating with the S.M.Mikhoels Moscow Jewish Theatre (1935). His creative work served as an important stimulus for the post-war development of the “unofficial art”. The creative work of Tyshler was an important impulse for the post-war development of the unofficial art. The works are kept in the Tretyakov State Gallery, the State Russian Museum and many regional museums
