Maltsev Petr Tarasovich (1907, Mariupol - 1993, Moscow).
Painter, battle painter, poster artist. People's Artist of the RSFSR, USSR, Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Member of the Grekov Studio of Military Artists. Awards: State Prize of the RSFSR, medal of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, Grekov medal, medal of the Soviet Peace Fund. Graduated from the Zaporozhye art-professional school (1924), VKHUTEIN (1930). Since 1928 he has been a participant in art exhibitions. Notable works: "Guard ships on the march" (1947), "The feat of the Red Navy Ivan Golubets" (1946), diorama "Suvorov's Alpine campaign" (1952), "Storm of the Sapun Mountains" (1958), "Battle of Borodino", "Military -airborne assault near Vyazma in 1942" (1973), "The Battle of Stalingrad". The artist's works are presented in the largest museums in Russia (the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Central Naval Museum of St. Petersburg, the Suvorov Museum of St. Petersburg, the Central Museum of the Armed Forces in Moscow), museums of the countries of the former USSR, Russian and foreign private collections.
