Maltsev Petr Tarasovich (1907–1993).
Famous battle painter, poster artist. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1932). "Honored Artist of the RSFSR" (1958), "People's Artist of the RSFSR" (1968), "People's Artist of the USSR" (1974). Born in 1907 in Mariupol. From 1921 to 1924 he studied at the Zaporozhye art and vocational school. In 1930 he graduated from the Higher Art and Technical Institute (VKHUTEIN). Since 1928, a participant in art exhibitions. The works of Peter Maltsev are presented in the largest museums in Russia: State Tretyakov Gallery, Central Naval Museum of St. Petersburg, Suvorov Museum of St. Petersburg, Central Museum of the Armed Forces in Moscow; museums of the countries of the former USSR, Russian and foreign private collections.
