Very rare colonial "Exvoto" offering on board in loving memory of a stillborn girl and presented as an offering to the Virgin, commissioned by a "Castizo" Mexican family and dated 1736, New Spanish Viceregal school of the 18th century
Oil on panel, measurements: 36 x 25 cm. The tender composition, which we can frame as a private devotional commission, where we observe a traditional family from the beginning of the 18th century around an embalmed girl, probably stillborn, dated in Mexico in 1736. Provenance: private collection, Madrid.
