In 1928, the Italian airship Italy under the command of Nobile flew to the North pole and crashed. The whole world was excited about the fate of the aeronauts who disappeared in the Arctic ice. Expeditions from several countries, including three Soviet expeditions, went on the search. But only one of them - the rescue expedition on the icebreaker `Krasin` - managed to go deep into the Arctic, reach the site of the airship accident and save the dead. The documentary story `Krasin 'in the ice' describes the extraordinary adventures of krasintsev during the search for aeronauts in Italy and the famous Norwegian traveler Roald Amundsen, who paid with his life for trying to find Nobile and his companions. The reader learns about the people Krasinski found floating in the ocean, the ice, the mystery of the death of Swedish scientist Malmgren, abandoned his companions in the icy wilderness, a meeting with a polar Robinson, the people who discovered Krasinski on a deserted Arctic island Pain, and the salvation of the `Krasin` German ocean liner `Monte Cervantes`.
