Anatoly Fyodorovich Koni (January 28 (February 9), 1844, Saint Petersburg-September 17, 1927, Leningrad) was a Russian lawyer, judge, statesman and public figure, writer, judicial speaker, full privy Councilor, member of the State Council of the Russian Empire (1907-1917). Honorary academician of the Saint Petersburg Academy of Sciences in the category of fine literature (1900), doctor of criminal law at Kharkiv University (1890), Professor at Petrograd University (1918-1922).



Author of the works "On the path of life", "Judicial speeches", "Fathers and children of judicial reform", biographical essay "Fyodor Petrovich Gaaz", numerous memoirs of colleagues and figures of Russian culture.



In 1878, a jury chaired by A. F. Kony acquitted Vera Zasulich. He led the investigation of many criminal cases (for example, the crash of the Imperial train, the death of the steamship Vladimir in the summer of 1894).
