[The all — Russian Union of poets (VSP, Sopo) is a literary Association of poets of different directions and schools, established in November 1918 in Moscow. Then, in 1920, a branch was organized in Petrograd. Branches were also established in other cities, including Bezhetsk, Rostov-on-don, Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnodar, Serpukhov, Ryazan, Kaluga, Kursk, and Novocherkassk. The Association existed until 1929, after which VSP was introduced into the all-Russian Union of writers.

According to the Charter, the VSP was not a professional organization, but a cultural and educational one, acting "in the name of the revolutionary construction of a new art".

In the autumn of 1922, the NKVD did not approve the VSP Charter "because of the extreme dubiousness of the revolutionary goals and objectives pursued by the Union, as well as harmful activities in the ranks of the youth" and allowed its activities only in February 1923, after the Charter was changed and the Central Board was re-elected.

The duties of the Union included: preparation and holding of reports, debates, poetry evenings, literary courts and competitions, arrangement of improvisation evenings. In times of difficulties with printing, in the early 1920s, the Union organized performances of poets from the stage, supported the activities of literary cafes, such as "Pegasus stall", "Domino" and others. The Union published several almanacs and collections of poems, the anthology "Poets of our days" (1924), as well as individual collections of members of the Union.]
