"Pioneer" is a monthly literary, artistic and socio-political magazine of the Central Committee of the Komsomol and the Central Council of the all-Union pioneer organization named after V. I. Lenin for pioneers and schoolchildren.

Founded in 1924, it is published in Moscow. The first issue was published on March 15, 1924 and was dedicated to V. I. Lenin. It is considered a bibliographic rarity, since the author of the essay on Lenin was Leon Trotsky, and the published copies were subsequently destroyed.
In 1938, the magazine published the fairy tale "Old man Hottabych" by L. I. Lagin.

The magazine collaborated (as of 1975) with Z. I. Voskresenskaya, M. P. Prilezhaeva, Yu.Ya. Yakovlev, A. G. Aleksin, L. G. Matveeva, V. A. Bahrevsky, B. M. sarnov, artists O. G. Vereysky, L. V. Vladimirsky, A. M. Kanevsky, F. V. Lemkul, P. I. Kuzmichev, E. A. Medvedev and others. Later, the magazine published works by Eduard Uspensky.

"Pioneer" had permanent sections of school and pioneer life, journalism, science and technology, art, sports, children's art. The magazine organized the work of Timur teams and detachments. Awarded the order of the red banner of Labor (1974). The circulation in 1975 was over 1.5 million copies. The maximum circulation of 1,860,000 copies was reached in 1986 (#4-7).
The magazine has been published to date (with a small circulation of 1,500 copies in March 2015).
