A rare collection of participants of the literary group Create!

The publication presents poems and short stories by writers of the early Soviet association " Create!", which included writers of the proletarian direction. Many of them then belonged to the group "Smithy", and then to the association of RAPP. The association "Create!" appeared in the years of the NEP. Writers published annual collective almanacs and collections: "Create!", "Take Off", etc. Among the prose writers presented in this collection: M. I. Volkov ("Wolf's Teeth"), I. Zhiga ("Blizzard"), N. Zhukov ("Mityukha Kornev"), Iv.Sidorov ("On Trinity Day"), Al. Krechetov-Volzhsky ("Brothers"). The poems belong to A. Makarov, A. Sokolov, N.Aframeev, S. Dolnykov, I. Doronin, I. Lomsky, S. Shikhov, G. Vasiliev. These were already established writers who perfectly mastered the artistic word. In their works, an important role was played by the ideological component and the romance of the revolution. Many of them expressed radical left-wing views, opposed the NEP, and some left the party, disillusioned with the Soviet government.

One of the founders of the association "Create!" was Mikhail Ivanovich Volkov (1886-1946). He was originally from the peasants of the Kalyazinsky district. He graduated from a rural school, at the age of 13 he went to Moscow to earn money, tried the share of a laborer, a chorister, a small employee. He dreamed of becoming a national teacher, was a participant in the First World War and the February Revolution. In 1918, M. I. Volkov first appeared with the literary work "The Corporal in Paradise", and began to write in the studio of the Moscow Proletkult. He took part in the organization of the 4th literary studio of the magazine "Create!" and the association " Create!", was a member of the group of proletarian writers "Kuznitsa".
