[Victorin Flavianovich Bobrov (1884-1946) - a specialist in the field of aircraft technology and organization of training of engineering personnel.

In 1920-1922, he headed the State Aviation Plant No. 12 in Kiev.

He was the rector of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute in 1921-1929. Head of the Department" Aircraft Production " MAI in 1933-1940, director of the Moscow Aviation Institute in 1936-1937.

The Aviation Scientific and Technical Society in Kiev (ANTO) existed in 1923-1927 (or 1926) at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute.

Since 1905, the KPI had an aeronautical section of the mechanical circle, organized by Professor N. Artemyev, a student of N. E. Zhukovsky. In 1908, the section was separated into an independent circle, the head of which was the mathematician and aeronautical enthusiast N. Delaunay. Later, Delaunay organized the first scientific association for aviation in the south of Russia — the Kiev Aeronautical Society (KVO). KPI students, well-known professors, engineers and designers were members of the circle and the CVO. Among the students was the future famous aviator and aircraft designer AND. Sikorsky and many other students also became famous figures of aviation. The circle conducted both theoretical and practical work — its members prepared essays and reports on aviation, attended lectures of the KPI and the University of St. Vladimir, built models of gliders. In 1911, the KVO organized an exhibition, where the main exhibit was the Sikorsky monoplane, which had already carried out the first test flights.

After the outbreak of the First World War, the circle closed, as most of its members were drafted into the air force.

The work of the aviation club resumed in 1922, and in 1923 it was transformed into a scientific and technical society. In addition to the KPI, the member organizations of the society were an aircraft factory, units of aviation and aeronautical military units, the provincial department of the Society of Aviation and Aeronautics of Ukraine and the Crimea (OAVUK), and an air navigation station. The society was engaged in the construction and testing of gliders and low-power aircraft, in 1923-25 published the magazine "Aviation and Aeronautics". Thanks to the activities of the society, the Kiev Aviation Institute was founded in 1933. In the work ANTO was attended by the rector of the KPI and the first Director of the factory V. F. beavers, the future designer of rocket-space technology S. P. Korolev, N. B. Delone, disablethrottle F. F. Anders, aircraft, ka Kalinin.]
