Lection udi Fægte-kunsten (A Lesson in the Art of Fencing) is a short treatise on fencing published in Copenhagen in 1765. Although the weapon used is not described in the text, the treatise is most likely dedicated to the sword. The fencing style described in the book is based on the French style of the time.
The author, J. P. Vicards (or Vigards), was a fencing master at the Royal Naval Academy. On the title, the author's name is Vicards, but on the last page it is designated as Vigards. Practically nothing is known about the origin and identity of the fencer, however, the sentence "Since I was in Copenhagen during it.." suggests that he was not from those places.
