The autograph is given to Mira Abramovna Zbarskaya (Beilin), who has worked in the legal department of the Literary Fund for decades.



Alexander Alfredovich Bek (December 21, 1902 [January 3, 1903], Saratov — November 2, 1972, Moscow) was a Russian Soviet writer, war correspondent.

He was born in the family of General of the medical service, chief physician of the military hospital Alfred Vladimirovich Beck. He graduated from the 2nd Saratov Real School.

In 1919 he joined the Red Army. During the Civil War he served on the Eastern Front near Uralsk and was wounded. He attracted the attention of the editor-in-chief of the divisional newspaper, wrote several reports on his order, which began his literary activity. After that, he became the first editor of the newspaper "Krasnoe Chernomorye".

He began to write essays and reviews for the newspapers Komsomolskaya Pravda and Izvestia. Since 1931, he collaborated in the editorial offices of "The History of Factories and Plants" and "People of two Five-year plans", in the "Cabinet of Memoirs" created on the initiative of M. Gorky.

In the Great Patriotic War, he joined the Moscow People's Militia, the Krasnopresnenskaya Rifle Division. Participated in the fighting near Vyazma as a war correspondent. I reached Berlin, where I met Victory Day.

In 1956 he was a member of the editorial board of the almanac "Literary Moscow".

In his last years he lived in Moscow, in the house of HBC "Moscow Writer" at 4 Chernyakhovsky Street.

He was buried in Moscow, at the Golovinsky Cemetery.
