Rare.


[1], 177 leaves. With ownership notations and signatures of Rabbeinu the Chida and two rabbis of Livorno: Rabbi Yaakov Nunis Vais and the Shach [Rabbi Shmuel Hacohen].


The great Rav Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Azulai, the Chida [1724-1806]. A revered holy Gaon. Famed for his journeys and travels. 


Rabbi Yaakov ben Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Nunis Vais, the Rav of Livorno and Rosh Yeshiva there. Was a famed and sharp Gaon in the Chida's generation. A disciple of the rabbis and Dayanim of Livorno Rabbi Chananya Mazal Tov Bondy and Rabbi David Malach. Author of Chidos Yaakov on the Shas, Afar Yaakov on the Torah and additional compositions. Rabbi Shmuel ben Rabbi Moshe Hacohen. Maharshach, one of the rabbis and Dayanim of Livorno, a friend and disciple of the Chida. A sage and poet who proofread the books of the members of his generation. See Encyclopedia of Italian Sages [Hebrew], p. 511.


New, elegant semi-leather binding. Stains, moth holes. Good-very good condition.
