A PAIR OF JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINTS AFTER HOKUSAI
After Katsushika Hokusai (Japanese, 1760-1849) pair of woodblock prints on paper in different sizes. Both prints depict an aesthetics of emptiness. The first: Fujimigahara in Owari Province (Bishu Fujimigahara), from the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (Fugaku sanjurokkei). The second is depicting a village landscape and view of Mount Fuji in the distance. Marked with Hieroglyphs to the center. Originally published in the 1820s-1840s. This edition was published probably in the early 20th century.
