TIBETAN BRONZE SCULPTURE OF SHIVA NATARAJA
A Tibetan patinated bronze sculpture of Shiva As Nataraja, The Lord of Dance. Nataraja is one of the forms of representation of Lord Shiva. According to the sacred texts, Shiva is a master of dance and music, as well as an excellent dancer and musician. It is in the form of Shiva Nataraja that religion, philosophy, and art are reflected and woven together. Shiva dances in a halo of fire, raising his left leg and balancing on the body of the demon or dwarf Apasmara, which symbolizes ignorance. Mounted on a rectangular shaped base.
