ANTIQUE RUSSIAN MAKSIM VOROBYOV OIL LANDSCAPE PAINTING
An antique Russian oil on canvas landscape painting by Maksim Nikiforovich Vorobyov. The painting depicts a view of the Moscow Kremlin. It belongs to a series of paintings created by the artist for the Russian Academy of Arts, in which he depicted Moscow after the fire of 1812. Circa 1815 to 1820. Plaque with the name of the artist is attached to the frame. Maksim Nikiforovich Vorobyov, 1787 to 1855, Russian painter and draftsman, the greatest master of the Romantic Classical landscape of the first half of the 19th century. Mentor of a large group of students, known in historiography under his name the Vorobyov School. Academician since 1814, and professor since 1823.
