ANTIQUE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CAST BRONZE ENAMEL CROSS
An antique Russian Orthodox cast bronze cross with detailed relief work and embellished with a blue enamel. The central area represents the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, there are the sun and the moon at the ends of the middle bar. Holds a relief text at the bottom edge Bow to Your Cross and Glorify Your Holy Resurrection. The top end displays the Holy Face, the lower part represents the city of Jerusalem, mount Golgotha, and the head of Adam. Etched text and cross on the back. Circa the 19th century.
