LTD INDIAN MODERNIST LINOCUT PRINT BY SOMNATH HORE
Somnath Hore, Indian, 1921 to 2006, a limited edition linocut print on paper depicting a human figure in a townscape. Signed, inscribed and probably dated, lower right. Inscribed in pencil, lower left. Numbered in pencil, 1 out of 6, lower to the center. Somnath Hore was an Indian sculptor and printmaker. His sketches, sculptures and prints were a reaction to major historical crises and events of 20th century Bengal, such as the Bengal Famine of 1943 and the Tebhaga movement. Collectible Modernist Fine Art, Southeast Asian Artists.
