SOVIET MOTHER HEROINE AWARD CERTIFICATE (2)
Two award certificates honoring Santalat Machamadieva as the Mother Heroine of the Soviet Union. The title was awarded upon the first birthday of the last child, provided that nine other children (natural or adopted) remained alive or perished under heroic, military, or other respectful circumstances. The award was established in 1944 and continued to exist until the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. Both certificates are conferred by the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Soviet Union and display printed signatures of Nikolay Podgorny, the Chairman of this organization, and Michel Georgadze, the Secretary. One certificate has a maroon synthetic leather cover, 3 x 4.5 in., the other has a blue hardcover with a fabric lining inside, 8.5 x 12 in., both are dated November 10, 1976.
