JACOB MAX: (1876-1944) French Poet and Painter. A good autograph statement `Max Jacob´, one page, 8vo, n.p., n.d. [1938], in French. On a page removed from an autograph album, Jacob states `Les faits réduisent a néant la valeur des idées d´album - qui a le courage aujourd´hui de croire a des idées d´album.´ (“Facts reduce to none the value of album thoughts - who has the courage today to trust the album thoughts.”) Also signed by Maurice de Vlaminck (1876-1958) French Painter. Vlaminck adds a bold blue fountain pen ink signature and inscription (‘To Rene…..poor prisoner, Vlaminck’) in French immediately beneath Jacob’s signature. Small overall age toning. G
