Brei Kra’ah d’Avuha: Many stamps of Rabbi Chaim Berlin with his handwritten corrections on his father’s book, the Shut Meishiv Davar. First edition, Warsaw 1894.

Shut Meishiv Davar, 4 sections, by Rabbi Naftali Zvi Yehuda Berlin (the Natziv of Volozhin), published by the gaon’s wife and children. Copy owned by the author’s son, Rabbi Chaim Berlin, with his handwritten corrections.


The title page has many stamps from the author’s son (Rav Chaim Berlin), from various periods of his life and various towns in which he resided: “Chaim Berlin Av Beit Din of Kovrin”, “Chaim Berlin Av Beit Din of Yelisavetgrad (now known as Kirovohrad)”, “Chaim Berlin…prior Rabbi of Moscow and Av Beit Din and Ram in Volozhin and now in Jerusalem…”. Among the leaves are a number of handwritten corrections by Rav Berlin.


The book has a number of tshuvot from the Natziv to his son when he was Av Beit Din of Moscow. 120, 178 pages. Light wear in the margins, good condition.
