A collection of letters from the great Rebbes and Rabbis of the last generation, an interesting and fascinating collection. Most of them in their handwriting and some written by the Gabbaim or members of the family on behalf of the Rebbe. 1. The Rebbe Rabbi Moshe Natan Netah Lemberger of Makowa – Kiryat Ata. Author of Ateret Moshe and Klei Golah. Father of the wondrous Rebbe Rabbi Shimon Lemberger of Makowa. 2. The Rebbe Rabbi Nachman Kahana of Spinka. Av Beit Din of Klausenberg and Av Beit Din of Bnei Re’em. 3. The Rebbe Rabbi Chanoch Dov Zilberfarb of Koidinov-Tel Aviv. Son of Rabbi Meshulam Zalman Yosef of Toprov, one of the grandsons of Rabbi Chanoch Henich of Alesk. Served as Rebbe in Romania, (Botasani), from where he immigrated in 1948, to continue his family dynasty in our Holy Land. 4. The Rebbe Rabbi Chaim Mordechai son of Rabbi Itamar Rosenbaum of Nodvorna. He established his court and his yeshiva ‘Ma’amar Mordechai – Nodvorna’ in Jaffa. In 1960, he moved to Bnei Brak and opened a synagogue in the Givat Rokeach neighborhood in the west of the city. His son Rabbi Yaakov Yissachar Ber built Kiryat Nodvorna and the chassidut’s large synagogue in the outskirts of Shikun Viznhitz in the city (‘Heichalei Rosenthal’) and other institutions. Under his leadership, the Chassidut consisted of several hundred families. 5. Rabbi Moshe Neishlos, Rabbi of New Square, America. Son of Rabbi Yaakov Neishlos Rabbi of Swerdehyli and disciple of Rabbi Eliezer of Ratzpart. 6. The Rebbe Rabbi Yochanan Twersky of Tolna. Immigrated to Israel in 1955 and settled in Bayit V’Gan, where he opened a Beit Midrash. He acted simply and modestly and used to humiliate himself with peculiar behavior. He considered himself to be a chassid of Gur, and often went to the Rebbe’s tisch. At the end of his life followers began to gather around him. In the last two years of his life he moved to live in Bnei Brak, where a synagogue of the Chassidut was opened, which is active to this day. 7. The Rebbe Rabbi David Rosenbaum of Nodvorna. 8. Rabbi Binyamin Mendelsohn, Av Beit Din of Komemiyut. Rabbi of Kfar Ata and later Rabbi of the ultra-orthodox moshav Komemiyut. His name was connected to the case of the kidnapping of the child Yossele Schumacher. He was active in strengthening observance of Shemittah without relying on the Heter Mechira and was a central activist in Keren HaShevi’it, which provides financial support for farmers who observe shemittah. Rabbi Mendolsohn was admired by the Rebbe of Belz and the Chazon Ish who relied on him completely and even said that “This is what a Rabbi looked like in previous generations”. 9 A letter from Shneur Zalman Ichelbaum, grandson of the ‘Ba’al HaTanya’ to Rabbi Binyamin Mendelsohn. 10. From Rabbi David Wersheber. 11. The Rebbe Rabbi Baruch Ber of Seret-Vizhnitz, the founder of the Seret-Vizhnitz dynasty of Haifa. The large study hall there is modelled after the synagogue of the Chassidut in Romania. In the neighborhood is a yeshiva gedolah, a yeshiva l’tzeirim, a network of kolels, Talmud Torah, and other educational institutions for boys and girls. The Chassidut has a yeshiva ketana, kollels and two synagogues, as well as a girls’ elementary school. There are also synagogues and educational institutions in Bnei Brak, Jerusalem, Elad, Beitar Ilit and Ashdod, as well as congregations of the Chassidut in America. 12. [3] letters from Rabbi Naftali Chaim Adler. Rabbi Naftali Chaim Adler, great-grandson of Rabbi Naftali Chaim of Dzikov-Jerusalem, lived in Netanya where he opened the Dzikov synagogue. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Chaim Meir Hager of Vizhnitz and the step son of Rabbi Baruch of Seret Vizhnitz. One of his sons-in-law is Rabbi Shmuel Berezovsky, the Rebbe of Slonim. His son and successor is Rabbi Yisrael Eliezer Adler, the Rebbe of Dzikov-Vizhnitz. 13. The Rebbe Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter of Gur. The sixth Rebbe of Gur and the president of the Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah of Agudat Yisrael. Rosh Yeshiva of the Sfat Emet yeshiva for many years, known as the ‘Pnei Menachem’ after his book. 14. The Rebbe Rabbi Zvi Elimelech Halberstam of Sanz-Klausenberg. A member of the Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah of Agudat Yisrael and chairman of the Mifal HaShas Haolami. The center of his Chassidut is in Kiryat Sanz, Netanya. [16] letters. Sizes vary. Overall condition: Very good.
