Signature of Rabbi Yisrael Odesser

Interesting document signed by Baal Hapetek Rabbi Yisrael Ber Odesser, from the ledger of the Shver of the Admor Rabbi Yochanan of Rachmistrivka. 

A handwritten leaf from the ledger of the important Rav Rabbi Nachman Yosef Willhelm listing dozens of Jews of the old Yishuv, including important rabbis, who received funds for support. Jerusalem, [1936]. 

The rabbis and dignitaries listed on the first page (most or all of them with their original handwritten signature): Rabbi Yisrael Yitzchak Hakevi Reisman, Rabbi Ben Zion Alfas, Rabbi Eliyahu Yaakov Fischer, Rabbi Zvi Sofer, Rabbi Chaim Gershon Wilner and many more. 

One of the signatories is "Yisrael Ber Odesser" - the famed Breslov leader, Rabbi Yisrael Ber Odesser, Baal Hapetek. 

Appearing on the second page is a list handwritten by Rabbi Nachman Yosef himself including the names of Rabbi Nachum Schiff, Rabbi Yitzchak Guttmacher, Rabbi Yitzchak Adler, Rabbi Dov Shechter, Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Sofer and many more. 

The document indicates the poverty of the holy men of Jerusalem, who needed the meager support of the famed Gabai Tzeddakah and were required to sign their names for it. However, this did not prevent them from Torah and Avodah and despite their situation, their joy was ever-present, thus becoming great leaders. 

The Saba Rabbi Yisrael Dov Odesser (1886-1995) known as Ba'al Hapetek after the note with the נ נח נחמ נחמן מאומן. One of the most important Breslov Chassidim of the last generation. Based on his Torot, the following books were published: Ibei Hanachal - letters to President Zalman Shazar, Kitvei Rabbi Yisrael - letters, Likutei Emunah - a guide for Emunah, Yisrael Saba, Shema Yisrael and Sichot mitoch Chayei Saba.
