The culture of agitation came to Russia with the emergence of the power of the "Soviets". In 1918 V.I. Lenin puts forward his "monumental propaganda" plan, based on a utopian work by Italian philosopher Tommaso Campanella. Based on this plan, monumental art was to become the most important tool in the promotion of communist ideology and the ideas of revolution.

This poster dates back to the reign of L.I. Brezhnev. In a concise artistic formula, it conveys the most significant and important people for the Soviet state.

Artist: Boldyrev Vladimir Stepanovich (1911-1993) is a Soviet graphic artist, painter, member of the Association of Artists of the USSR, Honoured artist of the RSFSR (1976), Eminent arts professional of Ukraine (1990).

Participant of All-Union (since 1939) and republican (since 1947) art exhibitions. Senior lecturer (1952). Professor (1991). Participated in exhibitions: city (1930), republican (1947), All-Union (1939). The artist's solo exhibition was held in Kiev (1989).
